Thursday, November 18^th from 6pm – 8pm at the Unity Elementary School come and learn about PACE.  PACE is a new program in Maine, which stands for Property Assessed Clean Energy.  PACE is geared towards getting homeowners the money they need to make cost effective energy efficient improvements.  Examples of those improvements include insulation, air sealing, and efficiency improvements in heating and hot water systems.  Unity Energy Committee is holding this informational meeting with speaker Dana Fischer from Efficiency Maine.  Dana Fischer will explain the program and leave time to answer questions.  Who should attend?  Citizens and Municipal leaders should attend.  For more information, contact the Unity Energy Committee at 323-4898.

 

On Friday evening, November 19th, at 7:00 pm, Left Bank Books will be delighted to welcome Searsport artist Robert Barnes to sign the latest issue of McSweeney's Quarterly (#35).  A journal which includes letters, essays, stories and images, this edition features a  selection of reproductions of his"1,000 Lunch Bags." Actual brown paper bags, each one was labeled, decorated and embellished for his two youngest daughters, a project initiated after his daughter Corby had her unlabeled lunch stolen in the third grade.  Barnes will bring the originals to the event, which will take place at the bookshop, located at 21 East Main Street in Searsport.
