Celebrate American string music and the cultures that created these traditions.  Musicians and lovers of old time music gather for playing, sharing, and listening.  Events include workshops, performances, gospel morning play around and lots of old time jamming.  Sponsored by the Old Time Music Players of Maine (OTMPM) and hosted by Searsport Shores Ocean Campground in Searsport, ME. Maine artist Susan Smith creates socially engaged projects, and has coordinated an installation of mass produced house forms, which she distributed to local schools, colleges, homeless service centers, food banks, nursing homes and libraries.   Participants use the basic house to create art pieces that showing their interpretation of “home”

10/8/17 - 6:00pm Documentary Film in the Abbott Room, Belfast Free Library: "Quaker Indian Boarding Schools" presents fascinating historical research on the impact these schools had on Native lives and culture beginning in 1796. The documentary is a part of the National North American Boarding School Healing Coalition’s work.
