E-mail Print PDF
Like spending time outdoors, enjoy meeting new people, and want to learn more about the ecology of this area? Coastal Mountains Land Trust is currently recruiting volunteers to become involved with its active stewardship, outreach and office programs. Volunteers are needed to serve in the field as well as at our office as preserve monitors, trail managers, and office docents. More specifically, given a number of exciting new acquisitions in Belfast, Northport, Searsport, Stockton Springs and Prospect, the Land Trust is hoping to grow the number of active volunteers from these towns.

For those interested in learning more, the Land Trust is offering two opportunities to attend a new volunteer orientation. The first session is scheduled for April 5th from 4 - 5:30pm at the Belfast Free Library in Belfast. The second session will be held on April 12th from 5-6:30pm at the Land Trust office in Camden. At both sessions, Stewardship Director, Ian Stewart, will provide an overview of the Land Trust’s programs and conservation properties as well as a summary of the numerous volunteer positions that the Land Trust is currently seeking to fill. Please register to attend by calling the Land Trust at 236-7091.

For those who want to jump right in, the Land Trust is hosting an invasive plant removal work party at the Ducktrap River Preserve in Lincolnville, starting Sunday, April 10th from 9am- 12pm and continuing through April 13th on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-5pm.
