Join us at Spectrum Generations Muskie Community Center in Waterville for the 2nd Annual “Love Your Heart” event promoting heart health on February 14, 2011 from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. The Muskie Center will be collaborating with other area organizations such as Inland Hospital, Healthy Maine Partnerships, Champions Fitness Club, Alfond Youth Center and Barrels Community Market – all of whom will provide information on wellness, fitness and healthy choice eating.
“With heart disease being the leading cause of death among men and women, we wanted to make this an annual event to do our part in heart disease awareness” says Muskie Manger Cheryl Gifford. Participates can come to the Muskie Center before the event for a healthy options breakfast and stay after the event for a healthy options lunch. At noon, there will be a guest speaker from Inland Hospital speaking about heart related issues and answering questions. This event is free to the public and door prizes will be given away every half hour during the event.
The Muskie Center continues its heart awareness campaign by offering the public a Family & Friends CPR Program on February 22nd in collaboration with Sebasticook Valley Hospital. Pre-registration is required by calling (207) 873-4745.
