Add Your Business or Organization Free to VisitMaine.com

Add an Organization to the Website

Business listings on VisitMaine.com are added by the business owner or authorized personnel and include the name of the business, address, telephone numbers, web site address, description of the business and the categories in which the business is listed. You also have the capability to add Getaways and include an email address so consumers can contact you.

You may request a free listing on VisitMaine.com using the procedure below. Your business must fall within one of the categories listed on our web site and offer a product that people can come to Maine to experience. Please read the category definitions carefully to determine if your business is relevant to the category in question.

Instructions for adding an organization

  1. Go to MOTPartners.com .
  2. Click on “Manage Listings” icon
  3. Input your email address and password
  4. If you do not have an account, continue on to the next step. If you have forgotten your password, follow the below sub-steps. Otherwise skip to Step7.
    1. Click on the “Forgot your password?” link.
    2. Input your email address. This sends you an email message with a link you must open to reset your password.
    3. Click on the link in the email and input your new password and click on “Save”.
  5. If this is your first time adding a listing to VisitMaine.com click on the “Get started ” link.
  6. Complete the form including your name, email address, password and phone number, and then click “Save”.
  7. Click on “Add an Organization” icon and complete the 5-step form.

This submits your organization listing to VisitMaine.com for review.

The Maine Office of Tourism must review all listings prior to their appearance on each site. Please allow five business days for approval.

The Maine Office of Tourism request that all businesses receiving a free link on VisitMaine.com provide a reciprocal link on your site. A simple link to our sites from yours will increase the relevancy of all sites in search engine rankings and increase the likelihood that more people will click on them.

Add a Maine Getaway or Special to VisitMaine.com

Getaways are packages and specials that individual businesses may add to their organization listings on VisitMaine.com allowing people who clicked on your organization listing to see the packages & specials that you have available for that organization.

Getaway Types

Packages Packages offered on VisitMaine.com bundle a two-night stay with a minimum of two additional elements that are normally booked separately. This is intended to create an experience for the visitor such as lodging, meals, and/or an experience. Pricing should be inclusive of the elements and be for a pre-determined length of time.

FreeStayMainePackages The FreeStayMaine program has been developed to encourage cruise passengers to return to Maine for extended land based stays. Participating businesses can encourage return visits by offering special promotions for the vacationer on the FreeStayMaine website.

Specials Specials are pricing opportunities and could be any tourism product from lodging, meals, or activities promoting a single product. It is an opportunity for your business to develop sales during off-peak periods through pricing incentives.

$100,000 to be Awarded to Non-Profit for Energy Retrofit

Revision Energy passed this information along to the Chamber:  

The BrightBuilt Barn team (BBB is located on Mill Street in Rockport) is looking to award $100,000 to a deserving non-profit to undergo a deep energy retrofit. We worked on the systems design at BrightBuilt, a net-zero prototype home (GO Logic also worked on this project).

BrightBuilt Retrofit (BBR), their new project, will demonstrate the affordability and accessibility of deep energy retrofits in colder climates. The project will be innovative, sustainable, community enhancing, affordable/replicable, educational/open source, highly visible, and beautiful.

The selected non-profit organization will receive:

 1.    A cash award of $10,000 to help offset project expenses

2.    Access to $90,000 interest-free loan money

3.    Discounted design services from Kaplan Thompson Architects of Portland

4.    An opportunity to expand and deepen relations with supporters

5.    Local, regional and national recognition

6.    Lower energy bills and a reduced carbon footprint

7.    A more comfortable, livable and beautiful space
