vation, improvement, and use of Belfast's parks

BELFAST CITY PARK
One mile south of the downtown on High
StreetNorthport Avenue
An in-town treasure since its completion in
1904 by a group of local women activists called
the Belfast Improvement Society. The Belfast
City Park contains a creative wooden play-
ground, lighted tennis courts, basketball courts,
horseshoes, a Little League baseball field, a
swimming pool, and horseshoe pits. This park
draws thousands to its 15-acre playland per
year. Restrooms available.
HERITAGE PARK
Downtown, adjacent to Belfast Public Landing
Heritage Park is the location for the Friends
of the Park annual Arts in the Parks and the
Marine Heritage Festivals. It's a beautiful place
to picnic, beachcomb, or sit and watch all the
activity in the harbor.
WALES PARK
Lincolnville Avenue & Congress Street
In 1942 the land which would become Wales
Park was donated by Helen Skinner, the wife of
Penobscot
Narrows Bridge
& Observatory
