Public Schools
Maine School Administrative District 3
(Brooks, Freedom, Jackson, Knox, Liberty, Monroe, Montville, Thorndike, Troy, Unity, and Waldo) serves students in six elementary schools, one junior high, and one high school.

Maine School Administrative District 34
(Belfast, Belmont, Morrill, Northport, Searsmont and Swanville) includes eight elementary schools, a junior high school and a high school. The 2,000 students can participate in advanced placement programs at the high school, foreign language study, and a comprehensive special education program.

Maine School Administrative District 56
(Frankfort, Searsport and Stockton Springs) has a K-5 elementary school in each community; all students attend middle and high school in Searsport.
